Hi! Welcome to Derech HaTorah of Rochester’s website! Of course, in order to really get the feel of DHR, you need to visit! When you walk through the halls, you’ll immediately sense the joyful, warm, nurturing and stimulating academic environment. Talk to our highly-qualified dynamic teachers and you’ll feel their enthusiasm, dedication and excellence. Look around and you’ll be amazed when you see our magnificent new five acre campus (made possible through the visionary generosity of the Max & Marian Farash Charitable Foundation), including the impressive 48,000 square foot Dan Family Building, bright, spacious classrooms, big gym, new state-of-the-art STEM lab, Gavi Field, playgrounds and more.
Derech HaTorah’s existence is truly miraculous. From its "יש מאין" inception to its sustained almost 10% annual growth, we’ve had clear סיעתא דשמיא and a great deal of help and support from Rochester’s Yeshiva – the Talmudical Institute of Upstate New York. Throughout the past 13 years, DHR has continually achieved excellence in לימודי קדש and in general studies as it has grown from a fledgling school of 31 in 2004 to an established institution nearly four times that size קע"ה! We work hard to develop within our precious students a strong commitment to lead Torah lives while enriching both the Jewish and the broader community.
DHR exercises great fiscal discipline and spends about half as much per student as public schools, despite having smaller class sizes and offering a dual Judaic / general studies curriculum. Yet, no child is turned away as a result of financial circumstances. During the last two years, twenty new, young families have moved to Rochester. Finally, our community has started to grow and blossom. Additionally, Derech HaTorah has succeeded in absorbing and embracing families who were not closely affiliated within the community into our kehilla. Their children are now growing up on the Derech HaTorah! We invite you to become a part of our growth and success!
